Jung, Daimons and the Porous Self – Questions of Co-Creation

Brief Synopsis

Prompted by Carl Jung’s 150th birthday last year and her reading of the Red Book, Jeannet will share some of her own inner journey and glimpses into deep psyche.

Learning with reference to our own, direct, personal experience is essentially a gnostic approach, available to everyone. Jeannet’s talk is in part an outcome of her own attempt at integration. Using her interest in psychedelics, Kundalini, and trauma as an entry-point, she will explore something of the interface between our personal and the collective unconscious.

Jeannet will consider Jung’s notion of daimons as emissaries of deep psyche, and how these might resonate and mesh with our personal complexes to form channels for archetypal influence, perhaps experienced in an embodied way as kundalini-like energies. She will ask whether such processes might also occur in humanity as a whole. Jung speaks of ‘psychic epidemics’ that can take hold as large numbers…
