In this special plenary, Dr. Anne Baring takes us on a journey into the distant past, tracing the presence of the Divine Feminine through the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Sumer, Greece, Rome and Hebrew culture, and exploring the profound consequences of Her gradual disappearance from Western consciousness.

Once revered alongside the masculine image of the Divine, the Goddess embodied the sacred unity of Spirit, Nature and Cosmos. Anne explores how the loss of the Feminine — and the emergence of an increasingly patriarchal and monotheistic worldview — severed this ancient relationship, contributing over centuries to a world in which Nature came to be regarded as something separate from ourselves, to be mastered and controlled rather than encountered as sacred.
